Claudia Marseille did not start painting till age 40 due to discouragement from her 7th grade teacher. Born hearing-impaired she became especially observant of the world and the people around her. Learning to lip-read and attune to people’s faces led her to fine-art portrait photography, which ultimately led her to the amazing encaustic paintings she makes now.
